The first Village counter to reopen this fall serves acai bowls at 7:30 in the morning. The last one on the published schedule is a second-floor dining room above Charlotte Harbor, and it won't seat anyone until November. In between, about five weeks of reopenings follow the order of an ordinary day. Breakfast comes back first, then lunch and casual dinner, and the formal evening room last.
The Boca Beacon's October 1 roundup describes this fall's reopenings as many island restaurants and shops "opening back up after a quiet September." Set those dates against each business's own hours and a sequence appears:
| Date | What reopens | What it serves |
|---|---|---|
| Mon., Oct. 5 | Bella Vida, Aqua Boutique | Acai and smoothie bowls from 7:30 a.m.; retail |
| Tue., Oct. 6 | Hudson's | Grocery and grab-and-go on Park Avenue |
| Thu., Oct. 8 | Sister's, Miller's Dockside, the Gasparilla Inn's Main Dining Room | Italian-American lunch and dinner; marina sports bar; Inn breakfast and dinner |
| Fri., Oct. 9 | Grande Stitches | Retail |
| November | Eagle Grille | Upstairs waterfront dining at Boca Grande Marina |
| Not yet announced | Newlin's Mainely Gourmet, The Temptation, The Pink Elephant | No published date as of Oct. 4 |
Morning comes back first, on Railroad Avenue
Bella Vida reopens tomorrow, Monday, Oct. 5. It is a bowl-and-smoothie café at 480 E Railroad Ave., Suite 3. Its regular hours run Monday through Saturday from 7:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. and Sunday from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Those are the café's standing hours, and the shop has not announced any special schedule for its first week back. Either way, the first full day of the Village's fall is a morning-and-lunch day. Bella Vida closes by mid-afternoon. On the retail side, Aqua Boutique reopens the same Monday.
Hudson's follows on Tuesday, Oct. 6. A 2024 Beacon guide listed it at 441 Park Ave. under "Restaurants, Grocery & Grab-n-Go." For anyone opening up a house this week, it is the stop that turns an empty refrigerator into a working kitchen. With Bella Vida open Monday and Hudson's open Tuesday, the Village covers the start of the day before it serves a single dinner.
Thursday, October 8, the dinner hour returns
The schedule stacks up on one day. Sister's and Miller's Dockside both reopen Thursday, Oct. 8. On the same date, the Gasparilla Inn's Main Dining Room resumes service after its summer closure.
Each one adds a different part of the evening:
- Sister's calls itself an Italian-American restaurant and sits at the corner of 5th Street and East Railroad Avenue, sharing the 480 E Railroad Ave. address with Bella Vida. Its posted hours are Monday through Saturday, 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. That puts the Village's earliest-opening morning counter and one of its first dinner rooms at the same address, three days apart.
- Miller's Dockside says it reopens for lunch and dinner Thursday at 11:30 a.m. It describes itself as the island's sports bar, downstairs at the edge of the water at Boca Grande Marina, the former Miller's Marina, at 220 Harbor Drive.
- The Gasparilla Inn's Main Dining Room returns to breakfast daily from 7:30 to 10:30 a.m. and dinner Wednesday through Sunday from 5:30 to 9 p.m. Because Thursday falls inside that dinner window, the room can serve dinner on its first night back. The Inn asks even guests on its Modified and Full American Plans to reserve a dining time.
October 8 is also the first day of the Inn's 2026–27 fall season, which runs through December 19. On the island's own calendar, Thursday is the day the season starts. The roundup's last named date is Friday, Oct. 9, when Grande Stitches opens for the season.
One building, two openings a month apart
At 220 Harbor Drive, the reopening order plays out inside a single building. Miller's Dockside, downstairs, reopens October 8. Eagle Grille, upstairs, "will reopen for the season in November," according to the Beacon, which gives no specific day.
The restaurant's own description shows how different the two rooms are. Upstairs is "the quiet, peaceful setting" of the Eagle Grille, with second-floor views over the marina and Charlotte Harbor from every table. Downstairs is "the more lively atmosphere" of Miller's Dockside, next to the marina basin. The same kitchen team, under Chef Tito, serves both rooms. For roughly a month, the casual room downstairs will be open while the formal room upstairs stays dark. That is the whole Village sequence in one building, with the casual rooms first and the white-tablecloth room last.
One practical detail from the restaurant's site: the restaurant staff and the marina staff take reservations separately. Boca Grande Marina's number is (941) 964-2100, and the restaurants answer at (941) 964-8000.
The doors without a date
Three familiar names had no published reopening date as of October 4.
Newlin's Mainely Gourmet is listed in the roundup as opening "soon." It is a lunch and prepared-foods stop on 4th Street.
The Temptation, at 350 Park Ave., closed earlier than most. A Beacon item in July gave Saturday, August 1, as the last day of its season. The roundup does not list a fall date for it.
The Pink Elephant, the Inn's restaurant on Bayou Avenue, lists lunch Friday through Sunday and dinner Wednesday through Sunday. Those are standing hours. The page does not say when the season resumes, so they don't confirm that the restaurant is open this week.
Where the calendar is blank, calling ahead is the only reliable plan.
Meanwhile, 370 Park Avenue is under block
As kitchens reopen up and down Park Avenue, one storefront is being rebuilt. The Beacon reported that the sale of 370 Park Ave. closed on August 28. Miami-based Project Fishery LLC bought the property from Purple Cow 82 LLC of Winnetka, Illinois, and the warranty deed filed September 2 lists $2.3 million as consideration. The building had stood vacant. It was the former storefront of Wini Smart Studio, which moved across the street, and it sits on the east side of Park Avenue next to J.McLaughlin. A renovation plan filed by the previous owner went before the Boca Grande Historic Preservation Board in March 2025.
By the week of October 1, concrete block was going up for a new facade. No tenant or planned use has been announced. It may be the one Park Avenue address whose fall opening, if it has one, hasn't been scheduled yet.
What fills in behind the kitchens
Once the dinner rooms are open, the downtown calendar picks up. The events build in the same order as the restaurants, with a short afternoon walk first and the larger gatherings in late fall:
- Halloween Walk, Friday, Oct. 30, 4 to 5 p.m., downtown at 301 Park Ave., hosted by the Boca Grande Area Chamber of Commerce.
- Firehouse 5K and Big Mouth Chili Cookoff, Saturday, Nov. 7. The Boca Grande Fire Department's run starts and finishes near the Pink Elephant at 491 Bayou Ave. and goes past the Gasparilla Inn and down Gilchrist Avenue. The Chamber's cookoff follows downtown from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
- Thanksgiving at the Gasparilla Inn, starting Nov. 25, with holiday dining, family activities and the annual Gaspar's 5K Fun Run.
- Christmas Walk, Saturday, Dec. 5, 5 to 8 p.m., downtown at 301 Park Ave.
- The Inn's Twelve Days of Christmas, from Dec. 19 through the New Year, with caroling, holiday movies and gingerbread-house decorating.
December 19 also marks the end of the Inn's fall season window. That makes the stretch from October 8 to the Christmas Walk the Village's first full run of the year. Early on, Thursday dinner has to be planned around which kitchens are back, and by December, a Saturday evening downtown fills Park Avenue from 5 to 8 p.m.
If you plan to get back before the Village is fully open, the timing can make your first week easier or harder. That means having the house opened and stocked before Hudson's has fully restocked its own shelves, and having your rental handoff timed so guests arrive after Thursday the 8th rather than before it. Seasonal arrival coordination is part of what Rich Taylor handles for owners on Gasparilla Island. To plan your return around this fall's reopening schedule, request a private consultation.
